Has Ralph Becker taken a public position on CCW or other RKBA issues? I cruised his website a couple of weeks ago and didn't see anything relating to this and was unable to find anything in local media searches.

He's a mayoral candidate for SLC, right?

Does the UT state constitution give a mayor any power to impact RKBA issues whatsoever?

I wouldn't think it does.
True but the mayor can set a tone for his administration through his choice for Chief of Police and can wield influence with the City Council. We've seen what can be done administratively with the banning of firearms usage in Utah County due to "fire danger", for example. Another case in point would be the signage at the SLC airport that would lead one to believe that CCW is not allowed outside the secure areas if, of course, one were not versed in the actual law.

Buhler has made his position known and I was wondering what Becker's was. I would rather not help put someone in office whose views may be in conflict with mine in important areas. Although I doubt that I would be in 100% agreement with any one candidate, I like to know where the areas of disparity are located to help make an informed choice.

EDIT: Yes, Becker and Buhler are the mayoral candidates for SLC.
