I used to live in south Dallas in a small upstairs apartment that had no sound insulation for my downstairs neighbor. Well, they would harass me constantly about footsteps and always call the police on me. The officers were getting tired of this as was I, and no complaint to the super. would help. I was trapped in this hole till' my lease was up. Mind you that I am not a loud person but just simply walking around was kind of loud for them. I gave them my phone number early on and told them to call me personally if there were any problems and expressed to them my sorrow for the situation and that I could do nothing more to help the situation. The harrasment and police calls continued. Every time an officer would come to my door (they knew me by name at this point) I would let the officer in and he would laugh and tell me not to worry, just move when i could. One day i was walking back from the laundry room with laundry in hand when to big guys came out of my downstairs neighbors apt. and blocked my path to the stairs. They announced that they were there to do harm if i didnt quiet down. I calmly stated that they were blocking my path and should move out of my way. That upset them and one of the men went for me. I threw my laundry at them and seeing an opening i bolted for the stairs and into my apartment with them hot on my heals. I managed to make it to my bedroom where i produced my 12 gauge loaded with 3" buck shot, chambered a round and shouted an order to stop. Before i could finish my statement I heard " hes got a ******* cannon" and they promptly bolted from the apartment. I called police instantly and after that my landlord moved me for free into a house several blocks away. Needless to say i had to do laundry all over again!
