Simunition Training

HOw many of you on here would be interested in Force on Force training using Simunitions? For those of you who don't know what this is, its better than Airsoft and Paintballs. IT allows the student to use REAL firearms wiuth a special "conversion kit" on them that will not allow live rounds to be fired from this calibre of firearm.

How many would be interested and what would you pay for a one day and a two day class?

Thanks and be safe.

I would be interested if the price is right. I don't really know what that price should be.
I would be interested also, if the price was right.
Me as well, subject to the previous caveat!
I am very interested in something like this.
Ok, now that we know some are interested, what would you expect to pay for this type of training? I can tell you it beats airsoft hands down.
I also would be interested. As far as cost is concerned.. I think that depends on the course... if its just some lame "paintball" type course, I wouldn't expect to pay too much, however if we had a realistic course with some fun scenarios to run through, it would be much more worth the money. Also, what is the cost of the ammo? Thats probably more the question of cost :)
I had the opportunity of doing this in the Navy on a couple of occasions onboard an old decomm'd ship... I have to say, it was one of the MOST FUN things I've ever done. The rush of fear you get sitting outside of a dark room with your team stacked up getting ready to go in and take out the bad guy (that may or may not be there) when suddenly your group leader puts you on point-man...

It's a lot of fun! I would do it again in a heartbeat if it was good timing for me (which it rarely is) and if I could afford it at the moment.
Highly recommended for those who have never had a chance to do this... if it's done right, it will be some of the best training you'll ever get!

I have to agree with this; it all depends on the type of course offered. Could you give us some insight into what ideas you have, and then maybe we can guesstimate a price we would pay.
it would be fun. Come up with a price, a time frame, and some more details.
Well as for the cost per rounds, that is our problem but I can tell you...it isn't cheap, almost a dollar per shot.....lol we are in the middle of creating a lesson plan for it but it will involve a LOT of different REAL scenarios that you can encounter on the streets, in your car, at your home or business. It wont be a "lame paintball" training either. Go check out the Simunition website and you can see what the gear looks like. As for cost, it would be about $85 per person for the class but I don't think you will regret it. Sometimes you shoot the bad guy, sometimes you dont, and when you think you don't you should have.....LOL I'm getting excited about this already. We might have a class this year but had planned on putting it out on our 2009 courses....hmmmmmmm....Who wants to get shot??????
I need the experience of getting shot, and $85 is more reasonable than I was expecting.
Ok, we have figured the price will be between $80 and $95 for a one day class. What do you all think? Reasonable cost for a great lesson? The equipment is going to cost STG a couple thousand dollars but we feel that it is worth it to train people in a more realistic manner. Come on, help us out here. How often do you get to offer your input on a new course???? ha ha ha
That seems like a fair price.

Years ago I remember seeing "simunition" replacement barrels for the 1911 and Beretta M92. Is this the same system that you are using? Could I purchase a barrel for my 1911? It would be nice to be able to train with the same platform that I carry.
We wish we could sale the kits, but you would be amazed at what we had to do to get them. and for the cost, ($500) or so you could buy a new gun....lol. after this first year, we will see how people like it and then purchase more conversion kits and hopefully have enough for many different firearms, right now we have Glock 19, Beretta 92FS and are looking at a couple others. Plus the ammunition and safety equipment for it all.
I like this a lot. I would be willing to pay that price.
no one else wants to add their input? We have the courses/lesson plans now and might start utilizing this in a few weeks. Is $90 to much for you to pay for an all day course for force on force?
I'd definately be interested if it fits into the schedule. I think your price point sound reasonable.
anyone else want to add their input on this force on force training? Thanks
