About a year and a half ago I was in an army surplus store in Idaho and saw this bag for $14. I liked the way it was made with lots of pockets to put stuff including a large pocket in the middle and it had the MOLLE system for additions. My thoughts were that it would make a nice little range bag that could carry a handgun, a couple magazines, and a 50 round box of ammo. That's how it started anyway, now I see why the ladies have so much in their purses! :lol2:
At first I used it for it's original purpose but then I took it a car trip while traveling on business. I started adding things to it, a leatherman, flashlight, my GPS, a low cost compass, and a phone card. Thats when it really started filling up. One day I was browsing Cheaper Than Dirt's website and I found a similar bag so I purchased one for Mrs. Dodge along with a small MOLLE pouch for myself. I added it to the MOLLE webbing of the bag.
On my next trip I added a small solid fuel stove, a lighter, a small signal mirror, extra batteries, a pen, earplugs, and one of those little LED button lights.
Here it is empty:
With my handgun.
The gun fit loosely so Mrs. Dodge made "blankets" for our guns to keep them warm and snug
The add-on:
Here is all the big stuff I put in it:
My bag has a belt system similar to what is on a fanny pack. I have not used it and keep it folded up under the MOLLE webbing. Mrs. Dodge's is like this one Black Bag and has a shoulder strap for carrying as well as a carry handle like mine. So far I have been pleased by the durability of the product, the performance for the price has been exceptional.
