I carry the XD40 sub and have loved it as well! I had compared it to my friends Glock 27 but I too didn't like that fact that the diameter of the grip was too big for my hands to hold comfortably. I also looked at the Kahrs and really liked the feel of those. After I got myself the XD, my wife bought the Kahr CW9! 
So now we have best of both worlds!
