Saturday August 13 the Timpanogas FNRA committee will hold it's annual banquet and fund raiser. It will start at 5:30 PM at the McKay Center at UVSC, just off the University exit in Orem. The Friends of NRA Foundation has raised over $400,000 for the Utah shooting sports in the past 10 years. This is a great way to meet fellow shooters, have a great dinner, lend your support to the shooting sports in Utah and maybe win a gun! Cost is $25 per ticket or $300 for a Sponsorship which includes two dinner tickets, Sponsor hat and statue(this year is the "Roughrider") and special drawing tickets and Sponsor only merchandise. There will be a Live and Silent auction, games and a bucket draw. This year's Gun-of-the-Year is the Kimber Eclipse .45 ACP semi-auto pistol and will be on the live auction. For information, contact Ben Shepherd, chairman at (801)360-4011, or Steve Beckstead, NRA Zone Coordinator, (801)280-1863 for tickets and further information. this is a great way to have a direct impact on shooting in Utah. Hope to see you there!

No.

But if you care about your right to keep and bear arms, I highly recommend that you join the NRA right away. I belong to NRA as well as USSC.

That way, I support a national pro-gun organization and a state-level pro-gun organization.
The moment I read your post, I slapped myself for being so fogetful.

I logged on 2 minutes ago and joined.

Thanks for reminding me!
Excellent !! Oversight corrected and you've joined the ranks of the defenders of liberty...

I've come to have love/hate relationship with the NRA and dropped my membership some years ago. I've been a member of GOA (Gun Owners of America) for quite some time.

I'm not trying to start a pro/anti NRA flame fest. I'm not against the NRA; my wife and I just got fed up with the aparent wont to play both sides of the issue at times.

Each to his own, as long as everybody pools their efforts and actively supports groups that defend our rights.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this event. We will be in St. George for a long needed family vacation.

Now that I am a member, will I automatically find out about these events?
Oh, you'll get mail from the NRA. They're good (or bad) at that. I ignore it for the most part, and just am happy to support RKBA.

However, you probably won't hear about such things as Friends of the NRA banquets unless you check the schedules yourself. You can do so at the NRA website. It took me 30 seconds to find a map on which you can click your state: FRIENDS OF NRA
