Great! As long as I'm not swimming in the ocean.
Why not? I really LIKE swimming in the ocean. If you look behind me in my avatar photo, you'll see a boat railing, a row of SCUBA cylinders and the ocean. It was taken in the Cayman Islands, not Hawaii, but swimming in the ocean in Hawaii is great, too.

My arms would get tired, and I wouldn't be able to shoot if I was constantly swimming in the ocean.
You don't use your hands or arms while diving. Speargun (I need to get one, actually).

I have updated my profile to reflect my move next week to Richfield.

I am so excited I can drive a mile from my house and shoot anything I want.
I'm glad I don't live a mile away from you.

I have to admit I'm jealous. I live in Salt Lake. The closest free range place to go shooting for me is the outskirts of Tooele.

Heh. After I move I'll be able to walk out in my yard to shoot. And if I can convince the wife, I'll set up a pistol range in the basement :p

Congrats on finding a place in Richfield. It's too bad for me that you couldn't take mine, but you'll like Richfield a lot better than you'd like South Weber, I'm sure. South Weber is a nice community, but it's pretty citified these days. In South Weber when I want to shoot I only have to drive a mile or two, but I also have to hike a half mile up a steep canyon to get onto Wasatch National Forest land.

Not that big, but you don't need a lot of room for a small pistol range. I should be able to get about 40 feet. All I'll need is to set up a backstop; probably a 1/4" steel plate suspended at a 45 degree angle to bounce the bullets down into a sandbox underneath. I'll probably also build a shooting bench with walls on both sides and cover it with that egg crate foam to absorb the sound. Since I'm putting in radiant heating the ceiling above the basement will include a 2" thick concrete slab (to hold the heating tubes), which should provide adequate sound isolation from upstairs.

Who's the guy who lives on a boat in Utah Lake?
Some of the pins that are "out in the middle of no where" (AKA Utah Lake) represent counties. So the one in Utah Lake is for Utah County.
That must be me! I claim this whole county!
