OK kiddies! The time is rapidly approaching for the Monthly Meet!

We are having a BBQ at Millrace Park (most likely the West Pavilion, but we will move to the larger pavilion if needed/it's empty). The park is located at: 1200 West 5400 South, Taylorsville (coords: 40.654328,-111.924596). We will be beginning the dinner at 6 (park closes at 8!), but I will be down there at about 5-5:30 pm to start setting everything up.

This is a BYOM (bring your own meat) event. We can cook hamburgers, bratwurst, hot dogs, steak, chicken, what have you. If you need seasonings, BBQ sauce, or weird utensils to cook you food, please bring them as well. I will have a spatula and some tongs.

To get all the food prepped, we will need at least two grills, so if you can bring one, please sign up for that.

Items in red have been taken care of. Please sign up for as many of the following items as you can (the more food, the merrier!):

Grills (ready to go with whatever cooking tools you can bring) - we have 3 small grills so far
1 person: 6 rolls of Paper Towels and a bunch of garbage bags (for cleanup) :lol2:
3 people: Drinks (6, 2 Liter bottles of soda each)
1 person: Ice (2-3 bags) or in a cooler with a scoop
3 people: Chips (2-3 bags each with dips if needed)
6 people: Salad (green, pasta, potato; enough to feed about 8-10 people)
6 people: Dessert (enough to feed 8-10 people, if not more; we like 'dem sweets!)
2 people: Silverware, Plates, Cups and Napkins (enough for at least 20 people each)

This list is assuming we have about 40 people, as seen by our previous meets at Golden Corral. It may be the case that whole families are planning on attending, so the numbers may need to be adjusted.

Please also list the number of people that will be attending in your party so that we can adjust food as needed.

Attendance count thus far: 50+

Thanks!

My wife says since she NEVER gets to bring something simple like chips, she'll volunteer for that.

There are six of us.

I can bring a salad and hopefully my wife. (2 to go)

Imagine, a park in this day and age, in the middle of summer, closing at 8pm? Really now isn't that insane! Better be on time !

Ummm...Dave, What is the date for this event, I didn't see that posted?

Thanks

Sorry, it's the 17th, next Thursday, at 6 PM.

As per the hours. I doubt they change their website for the seasons. I would bet we could stay until 9:00 or 9:30 without any problems.

I'll put you down for 2 and a salad!

OOOPS, Sorry Dave--just realized you had the date in your intro :ack: it must be these new bifocal lenses screwing up my sight.

Also, my wife jsut informed me she works that night, I guess I will be coming solo but I will bring the salad. Better say -1 for me. See you next week!

OK, talked to the wife and we're coming... we'll probably be late b/c I will be in class until about 6:30/6:45 and won't be able to be at the park until around 7pm. I'm trying to convince my wife to show up early though so the food gets there on-time. :)

We'll bring potato salad.
"We" = 2.5

BTW, the object of this isn't to necessarily OC is it -- neither of us have good OC holsters so we're planning on just CCing... I suppose this is a good excuse to get one but I prefer to hold off and shop around for a holster without feeling rushed into it.

Cinhil: No you were right, I ADDED the date to the thread title AFTER you asked, it was a good question. Solo is fine, perhaps your wife could come over later?

Bane: No worries mate! We welcome your wife early if she wants to come solo at first. CC is fine, this is a combined event and those who attend may do what they like (OC, CC or No-C). I love potato salad... yummy...

oooohhhh, I've heard a lot of good things about that "No-C" method of carrying -- I've been wanting to try it out, maybe this will be the perfect opportunity! :lolbang:
