If you have not heard about Judge Lewis-Utah 3rd District Court-and her antihunting views, visit:

http://www.firejudgelewis.com which has the link to the video which says it all

and the news article:

Can't imagine her views on CCW.
She's up for retention in this election--let's make sure it doesn't happen.
PDO is running a thread on this too, but it's the Utah folks that matter for this.

This woman has shown she is not fit to be a judge, and she should be removed. Please tell everyone you know, and let's vote her out.
It is too bad that she is in a district that I can't vote for, because her attitude is definately "god-like." Too often we get people in a government position of power with a similar attitude that are hard to get rid of. In the private sector if the "customer service" isn't up to par the business will suffer, but government officials can be hard to oust and avoid.

Good luck in ridding Utah of this judge!
If you haven't read my statement concerning this piece of trash on packing.org, you should. There are also many other appropriate comments there concerning this judge.
Needless to say, I watched the video and was outraged at her immoral turpitude! This woman has no place on the bench what-so-ever! Of course, over the years, living in the Third District Court District, I have had many opportunities to observe judges first hand. Personally I find the majority of them to be lax in their duty, bigotted, idiotic and full of crap--that is besides the fact that I have seen many of them violate the civil rights of many who have been brought before them.
This Lewis, though, committed gross acts of treason in the manner she violated this citizens rights! I am voting & she is getting a huge NO! I encourage everyine else to vote to eliminate her too!
If you haven't seen the video, it is a Must see! It will set off any proper thinking & respectable Red Blooded American who observes it. This woman belongs in jail!

I'm in that district.

I'll be voting against her.
Just to update, I cast my ballot this evening on an absentee form & am sending it in the mail tomorrow. I voted NO for retention of this twit! I encourage everyone else to do the same. We need honest, unbiased or bigotted judges--she is niether!
Aas a side note, I also voted no on retention of every standing judge up for retention this year. I have seen too much evil from them, we need the change. Hopefully we can get some honorable people on the bench, rather than the dishonorable ones we have been stuck with!
Ahh, the Republic at work--you gotta love it!
She's not in my district, but if she is in yours, please go out and vote against her.

Boot this bigoted tyrant out.
I voted against her this morning and I hope EVERYONE does!
She was kicked out! There's a song from that old movie "The Wizard of Oz" that comes to mind:

Ding, Dong, the Witch is dead!
This is excellent news!

I was a little concerned about the prospect of more Federal infringments from the new Congress. Good news is always welcome.

Were any others judges dethroned?

Not that I know of. I was really hoping that the one (can't remember his name right now) responsible for the courts ignoring the law about providing safe gun storage or allowing them in would be ousted too. Looks like were still stuck with him though.

Some good news is better than none I guess.
You are probably referring to Supreme Court Justice, Nehring. He is the one who is responsible for the violation of the law concerning srtorage lockers & the 3rd District Court. He did this and then the following year was appointed to the Supreme Court--he should not have been. He did, however, uphold the law as regards concealed carry and the U of U--it was the lone woman on the USC who voted her emotion, rather than for the law, and voted against ccw on campus.
Needless to say, there are still a lot of evil judges in our courts, most people are too ignorant of how they are operating, or are not educated concerning them & figure since they know nothing of them they vote to retain them. It is we, the educated, who must continue the good fight to remove them from office.
Only Lewis was dethroned--we still have a lot of work to do.

Yep, Nehring is the one.
I did my part in voting to give him the boot.
Perhaps we can get him outa there next time. :)
A heart felt thanks to those in her district.

I stubmled across a post-mortem article here.

I didn't know about the divorce case information that got out. Man was that wench a real winner or what? (I like the sound of "was.")
Just curious, is she gone for good? I remember there was some very small talk about her fighting it, on the grounds that her peer reviews were all positve. Not that that is grounds to negate the voters, but....
Anyway, is she gone for good or what?

I have no idea, but if it were fought, it would not surprise me. History is repleat with examples of people walking all over the People. It is a sad fact of human nature that those with power tend to stick up for their each other regardless of how much they like or dislike one another, always afraid of their own footing. It's all an illusion of course, but perception determines one's actions.

Etienne de la Boetie's "Politics of Obedience: A Discource on Vountary Servitude," though written five hundred years ago is quite applicable today. We humans never learn.
Okay, after a little searching, it appears that she is gone for good! I found this artice here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1741196/posts

Judge Lewis Requests Administrative Leave

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A 3rd District judge whose berating of a deer hunter in court prompted a Web site for her ouster and was not re-elected is being placed on administrative leave.

Judge Leslie Lewis' will be on administrative leave for the remainder of her term in office. Lewis has spent the past week off from scheduled hearings, following the suggestion of fellow judges.

Lewis had the option to remain on the bench through the end of the year.

Lewis gained notoriety shortly before the election when a video of her berating a man in an illegal hunting case was posted on the Internet.

While the case involved poaching, which is illegal, Lewis said she was prejudiced against "people who kill deer" and recused herself.

Chief Justice Christine Durham issued an order Friday granting Lewis' request.

Applications for Lewis' seat are being accepted until Dec. 15. A 3rd District nominating commission will recommend five candidates to Gov. Jon Huntsman, who will pick one and send the nomination to the Senate.
