Friends of the Gun, Polygunists, :D
Texas and Ohio are now recognizing Utah's CCW permit.
That makes a person with a Utah permit legal to carry concealed in 28 states.

Looking to add Washington state any day now and am starting the process with BCI for PA.

Sincerely,
W. Clark Aposhian

Ah, we both hit the same topic today...

I posted mine in the Concealed Carry Laws forum: Excellent News!! BCI now shows reciprocity with 13 states.

Jeff Johnson said:
I saw this on packing.org tonight.

The Utah BCI FAQ page is now showing the following:

At the current time, Utah has a signed formal reciprocity with:
  • Alabama[/*]
  • Alaska[/*]
  • Arizona[/*]
  • Colorado[/*]
  • Florida[/*]
  • Louisiana[/*]
  • Mississippi[/*]
  • North Carolina[/*]
  • North Dakota[/*]
  • Ohio[/*]
  • South Dakota[/*]
  • Tennessee[/*]
  • Texas[/*]
These States will honor Utah concealed firearm permits. BCI suggests permit holders contact any other state they are planning to visit to find out about that state's concealed firearm laws.
You won't yet see this yet on the Utah BCI Reciprocity page, which hasn't been updated since December 23, 2003. I guess they just haven't gotten to updating this page yet.

I'm happy, especially that we gained Texas and Ohio!!! :D :D

How about y'all?
BTW, I like your signature line. Isn't that a quote from Top Gun?

Hi Clark,

How did you get your list to 29? I'm looking at the Utah page on packing.org, added Ohio and Texas and only come up with 28 states, including Utah.

Here's the list I came up with from packing.org after adding Ohio, Texas and Utah to it:
  1. Alabama[/*]
  2. Alaska[/*]
  3. Arizona[/*]
  4. Arkansas[/*]
  5. Colorado[/*]
  6. Delaware[/*]
  7. Florida - resident-permit only[/*]
  8. Georgia[/*]
  9. Idaho[/*]
  10. Indiana[/*]
  11. Kentucky[/*]
  12. Louisiana[/*]
  13. Michigan - resident-permit only[/*]
  14. Mississippi[/*]
  15. Missouri[/*]
  16. Montana[/*]
  17. New Hampshire - resident-permit only[/*]
  18. North Carolina[/*]
  19. North Dakota[/*]
  20. Ohio[/*]
  21. Oklahoma[/*]
  22. South Dakota[/*]
  23. Tennessee[/*]
  24. Texas[/*]
  25. Utah[/*]
  26. Vermont[/*]
  27. Virginia[/*]
  28. Wyoming[/*]
I count 28 states there.

Regards,
Jeff

Now there's a thread on packing.org that says there was a snag in some paperwork, but it should be cleared up and reciprocity established within a week or two...

*UPDATE*
Added by Canadian gun nut on Friday, September 17, 2004 @ 11:50 AM

I just received an email reply from BCI in Utah...

"A reciprocity agreement between Ohio and Utah is in the works and should be completed in a week or two. We just sent off a little correction we needed on the agreement and should receive it back soon."

nxiv called it. Stuck in SLC.

Still waiting on rep[lies from OH's AG, but Utah's response will do. Ohio seems pretty quick to post reciprocity on the AG's web site as soon as letters are received
