I realize that I am new here, but would I be stepping on any of the men's toes if I was to organize an all women's shoot?

I had such a great time shooting with the ladies at our campout. :gun6: I know that there are many more that couldn't make it to the last outing and a few have joined since, so I thought I would throw it out there to see what the interest would be.

Guys, it can be for the women in your life, even if they aren't online. Maybe they can see the "softer" side of shooting!

Once I get an idea on the level of interest, I can narrow down a location.

Women entering the shooting sports is one of the segments with the highest growth rates. Go for it . . . lots of men might even help with organization and setup if needed.

Good idea. My wife isn't into it a whole lot, in fact had she not met me she would never have known as much as she now does about the sport, or the reason for carrying. I posed the question to her about this women's shoot idea and she seems fairly receptive. I think it woould be an excellent idea for many women to be able to do this, they could learn a lot from each other. They may learn some things which otherwise they may be afraid to ask of us men. The educational aspect, along with the sport aspect may be very good for the ladies. I am for for sending my wife to "camp." 8)

I was blessed to start dating a girl who's dad loves to shoot and tought her to love it. so getting her to come shooting is never a problem. she can't wait to turn 21 and get her CFP!

Ya when we met, she was afraid of guns. It took me several years to get her to realize that guns (used responsibly) are not bad. She had a best friend in high school that was cleaning a gun and failed to check to make sure it was unloaded before he started cleaning it. He shot himself in the head and died. The were really close and since that she had a fear of guns. I taught her and educated her on the rules that I follow and teach our kids and that has let her see that it wasn't the guns fault. At least she lets me buy guns when we can afford it. I have even got her talked in to going shooting at rangemasters and looking at guns she might like to carry. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

DO IT! I would love to get together with some fellow women who carry. I currently know NONE personally. I would love to exchange ideas on how, when, why and where they carry, not to mention the tactical aspects of drawing and firing your weapon from the holster.

Any ideas of WHERE you want to do this?

I'll be watching and waiting... let me know if I can bring cookies :eat:

PS it's too bad this dude isn't wearing pigtails..... thus making this smiley a girl :gun8:

Okay, sounds like there is some interest. :D

Maybe some where central to the state as I am in Ogden and I see that some of you are south of SLC. I would like it outdoors though..any ideas guys?? :dunno:

It doesn't have to be at a range, as I have a canopy and MarshallDodge made some shooting stands for our last outing. With Emmaishappy's cookies...we should be set! :shades:

This sounds like alot of fun, I think we should definitely do this. Lets make the guys really jealous and only let them see the pictures of this event. Why not make this a potluck as emmaishappy wrote she would bring cookies. I could bring brownies or a fruit salad.

Just an idea.. I-80 west to the Rowley then left under the overpass about 400 yards and left at Timpe Springs. There is no shade so TriciaDodge's portable shade would be needed, I have one as well. There are quite a few places where we could set up, in case someone was already there. Really easy to find. Even from my place it is almost an hour. So, now what are other places to consider.

Ps Cowboy says that this is kewl :shades: and that he will help any way he can, even if it means GETTING LOST.

I vote for a place with shade, but will consider any depending on when and where. The furthest places north I know of is up American Fork canyon or Strawberry (a little further southeast) but gorgeous.

If you do the Strawberry thing, the ladies can shoot while the guys go fishing? Just a thought. :dunno:

Strawberry is a little far for me. I haven't heard anything lately and I'm dying to bake cookies! Please give me an excuse!
