I made this and presented it to Breadfan, the writer of "The XD Song."

As soon as I saw this thread I knew the glockies couldn't resist!
I love my sub compact XD, but to be fair I have never fired a glock.

Well I guess if owning an XD give you plenty of pratice on clearing FTF and FTE, so they are not a total waste of $$

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, GLOCK FAN!

WOW!!! Sorry Dave. Its too bad this is where these XD/Glock threads always go isnt it. :bang2:

Well as a lover of both here is my XD $.02

The very first pistol I ever bought was an XD .40 4". Great pistol. thousands of rounds with out the slightest problem which was pretty good considering I was a snot-nosed noob with handguns. Since then I decided I dont care for the .40 and got an XD9SC which I carried for awhile before making the jump to Glock. Having been in the Glock camp for many moon and about 8 different G-models I decided that, although it is a fine pistol, I was making too many sacrifices for the mechanism.

Sold my last remaining Glock and cant stop thinking about an XD45. I went to Get Some last night to blow some rounds through my CW45 and fondled the XD45. Holy Crap!! I dont know how they made a double stack .45 ACP feel so darn good in the hand but I'm glad they did!! For a guy with smallish hands it is a celestial fit. Now the problem is Bi-tone tactical or all black 4" compact :dunno:

Truth be told...if I could do it all over again I would have skipped all the other business and gone from the XD9sc straight into the XD45c. (I do like the Kahr for carry though)

Well probably like most people who dislike XD's, I guessing this individual may have never actually experienced these problems first hand, but typically end up regurgitating things they hear rather than offering any first hand objective feedback. I could be wrong though. If one were to do a seach online for glocks and failure to feed, guess what, lots of hits, where I personally have no such first hand experience w/ my XD. I love it. Works flawlessly, feeds all ammo brands and weights w/o a hitch. Accurate, overall, more so than I have seen on average from glocks. All I can quote is first hand experience. I can't compain about my XD in any way. Most objections I have heard about XD's are for typically inconsequential things or from people who pretty much know little to nothing about them and like to recite what others say. I liken this to the Ford sucks, no chevy sucks crowd, when most who object to one brand, have not owned or driven it, let alone experienced the troubles they spout. In the end, no gun is perfect, but there are many very good ones out there and the XD's and Glocks have got to be included in this list if one is objective about it.

Here is a quote I found from the many glock failure to feed and catastrophic failure sites "failure to feed can be caused by "limp wristing" the gun" I think this says all you need to know bout glock owners. PSA- This is a joke, this is only a joke. intended only for entertainment value and does not reflect the views of utahconcealedcarry.com, Jeff Johnson or the posse. :D Bottom line, I love my XD 40 tactical and have never regretted buying it for a moment. Then again, if someone were to give me a glock for free, I would not turn them down. If anyone has such a desire, please send me a private message :lol2:

XD is a good gun, in all reality you won't go wrong with one.
XD's are great. They are even better with a trigger job. :D
Who cares about XD's and Glocks when you have a 1911!! Just kidding! :D
The song was good too.

For a polymer pistol the XD's are good all around guns.

I owned an XD9SC for a while and thought it was a nice gun except I couldn't understand why you would want to carry something so thick. I never had shot an XD but found a screaming deal on a used one, so good that a year after I bought it a friend offered me a lot more than I paid for it. The gun shot great but I just never fell in love with it.

I have shot the full-size 45 and liked it. The ergonomics made follow up shots very quick.
I own a XD .40 SC bitone and love it. I love the way it feels in my hand and love the looks of it. I have to say it is the only and first gun that I own and will probably by a Glock for my future collection of guns and I will probably buy more XD's for my collection. In choosing a gun I asked a lot of experienced shooters what they thought was a good gun and they said that both Glocks and XD's were great. I just thought that the XD looked cosmetically a lot better and when I first shot it it was like I had been shooting that gun for years. I just wish there was more money to go shooting a couple of times a month. I love it and have some friends that have bought XD's because of me and they love it too. My $.02.

That's what I am talking about.

I would rather get an XD I believe rather than a glock due to the safety features that a being considered with it (I believe XD it coming out with thumbsafety now?)

But it's true though, a G27 IS a pretty good concealable pistol vs WD

The Glock is thinner but as you said, TJ, the XD has more safety features. The new .45ACP has a thumb safety to go along with the grip and trigger safeties.
Yeah, I am not a fan of the manual thumb safety. I mean, I tolerate it on my 1911 because I realize that it has an external hammer and that's how you carry a 1911 (locked & loaded), but for a sidearm with an completely internal firing mechanism, it seems unnecessary and added simply to grab some of the market (departments that require their sidearms to have thumb safeties). As such, I think only those people should buy that kind of XD, I like to keep it simple, keep the trigger and internal safeties of Gaston's Glock-block and the grip safety/beaver tail of the 1911. Ah... perfection, "XD Perfection", "Glock insurrection"... :crown:

XD's RULE, Glocks are for FOOLS! :lol2:
