Anyone shoot a XD40 in the subcompact. I have shot the 9 and it feels just fine. Just wondering if the 40 in that small of a gun kicks much more than a 9? It is will be a carry gun, but I would like my wife to be able to shoot it comfortably. She doesn't like my 1911 in 45ACP, too much for her. All the gun ranges around here dont have a XD in a 40 to try out.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Josh

It is a good gun. Most people like the 45's kick better than the 40. If she likes the 9 that is what I would stick with, the stopping power isn't different enough to really matter.

I carry the 40 SC daily. It is my gun of choice because of the way it fits my hand. I can shoot it very well and I don't think it kicks any more than the 9.

That being said, I don't think there is much of a difference between the power of the 9 and the 40. Get what she is most comfortable with.

My Daily carry is an XD40SC. I absolutely love it. I have shot my friends XD9SC and there is a bit of a difference in kick, but my 10 and 12 year old sons are able to handle it quite easily and the don't ever complain about the kick like they did with my Airweight S&W .38.

I'm not a 9mm fan, so I'd tell you to get a 40 but that's just personal preference.
