Im considering getting an HK product and was wondering if anyone here had experience with them and whether that experience was good or pretty bad. Im thinking about the USPc in either 9mm or .45 (cant decide that either :bang2: ). Anyway thanks.

I haven't had any experience with them, but a lot of consumers have complained about poor customer service and sales techniques. They clearly are targeting larger LEO agencies and governments as their market, so it appears that private citizens are often shafted by HK.

And of course, there's the famous backwards bullets marketing photo:

They are good guns but pray nothing ever breaks. It takes a miracle to get any parts for them. :nilly:
Usually NOTHING breaks. If you have your dealer send it back, you can usually get better attention. HKPro.com has a few threads on customer service. Worth the read if you're really interested.

That's a lot of HK bashing. But on the otherside, I have owned a USPc .40 for 8 years now, and have never had a problem with it. It is much more accurate than the several Glocks I've shot, and very reliable. It is the gun I carry most often, and I practice with it often.
Maybe when you load the magazines the correct way they work better

A little over a month ago I was at the BlackwaterUSA training facilities in Moyock, NC and all the buzz was, if you wanted to shoot an HK you had better go quick because all the HK reps were leaving and taking their toys with them. The reason given was that HK suddenly decided they did not like the war in Iraq and was removing their association with any organization that had anything to do with Iraq.

Beyond firing a few rounds through a German service rifle - I didn't even experience a mag change - I do not have any experience with HKs. This was provided FYI in case their political views might influence your opinion of their products.
