Carry permit = consent to blood draw?

Postby mljdeckard » Sat 09 Sep 2017 10:07 am

So the other night I was listening to Rod Arquette on my way home, and they were supposing about the case of the U of U med nurse who was arrested for refusing to draw a patient's blood without a warrant. A caller was trying to show the other side of the story, saying that the patient was a cop, and "all cops and concealed carry permit holders" give blanket consent to a blood test at any time. I shouted vulgarity at my steering wheel.

Pretty sure the caller invented this from scratch. Is there any law anywhere that says carry permit holders surrender any 4th Amendment rights just for having a permit?

I'm pretty sure the caller is full of crap. I can't find that in the Utah code anywhere. Maybe I'm missing it, but I doubt it.
