TapaTalk Plug-In Installed

Postby Jeff Johnson » Wed 08 Sep 2010 9:36 pm

Based on the desire many have expressed for easier mobile browsing of UCC, I have installed the server-side plug-in for TapaTalk. For certain mobile devices, you can install the TapaTalk application and it should now work on UCC.

The read-only version of the TapaTalk app is free to install on your compatible mobile device.
The full version costs a small fee from places like the iTunes store.

Please let me know if there is any problem using the normal forum in a browser or using the forum through TapaTalk on your mobile device. If it turns out that it causes problems on the forum, this plug-in can be backed out.

Disclaimer: The owner and moderators of UCC did not develop nor do they maintain the TapaTalk plug-in or mobile application, nor do they receive any compensation of any kind when users purchase the full version. This has been installed for the convenience of forum members.

it might need some time to get into the list. I do not see it yet.

Thanks for adding it also, This will be real nice for keeping up to date.

People say I should not carry because it's not the Wild West. I say I carry because its much worse. Only 3 people died at the at the O.K. Corral and its a part of our nations history. If 3 people died in a 30 sec shootout today It might not make the news.

Oh, I think that I had to "Publish to Network" on the TapaTalk site to get that to happen. I've just done that.
Please try it again.

It's up on the network. I'm trying the read only version to see if I like it or not. So I will let you know what I think after I test it out.

Posted from the TapaTalk for BB beta. Looks pretty nice!

Already I can see some positives and negatives. Yes, I know I haven't used it much yet. It loads pretty slow on new topics. It doesn't show smilies, or let you post them. That is, unless you know the code to type in for the smilie you want, but you still can't see it on Tapatalk. Even when you go to new posts, it puts you at the beginning of the thread, so if it's a long topic you get to take a nap while you scroll down. Maybe there is a remedy to that, I'll keep looking. The options at the top of the screen are a bit large. When in landscape mode they take up 1/3 of the screen. I'm betting the app is just something that I will have to get used to. On a more positive note, it looks good, formats on the phone well, and posting is much easier. The read only version allows you to try to make a post, but wont actually post it, but the posting format is easy to use. I'll keep dorking around with it and give more updates.

Nope.

Edit...Funny thing.... This pic looks fine on tapatalk....but on a regular commuter it doesn't even show. Lame.

I know why though. Your picture can only be up to 800 pixels wide. It won't work with anything bigger.

This is a pic that I resized with an app called reduce photo size. Very easy and free too. Found it on the android market.
