Home made kydex holsters

Postby alnmike » Wed 17 Sep 2014 1:11 am

Hi all,

I was wondering how many people in the SL area make their own holsters. I saw GoblinSlayer's post in this forum, hoping he'll chime in also.

I'm interested in making my own for fun, probably not going to sell or anything but don't want to completely rule it out yet, might give me an excuse to buy a bunch of red/blue models which I think are cool.

The reason I want to start making my own is cost, I already own a Glock .40, XDm 9, 1911 .45, Desert Eagle .44, and thinking about a Glock or M&P 9. Add mag pouches and if I want to start experimenting with different types of holsters (probably never going to get that DE IWB holster), it quickly becomes crazy expensive. :nilly:

So, I was hoping that someone local was tinkering with homemade kydex and I could stop by and learn a thing or two before buying my own equipment. Hoping to 'save' enough money from holsters to 'justify' a Dillon 650. <also would love to check out that

Thanks a lot,
Mike R.

The retention is weak in this one DJ.

The last thing I want to do is shoot anyone, but it's on the list...

Youtube has some great videos on making holsters and the tools and parts lists. This guy PhillyEDC covers everything. Take a look through his other videos.
