glock 23 issue

Postby ammosargeant » Wed 22 Feb 2012 8:22 pm

My wifes glock 23 had some problems when we went shooting. It dinged the primer on three rounds but would not fire. The trigger is catching by the trigger safety and it wont return the trigger back to the normal position when you pull it. Took it apart and cleaned it and the trigger feels better but a little concerned it wont function properly. Any ideas, she carries it loaded all the time so could it be the spring? or is it something else?

Are all the springs stock? Those symptoms can all happen if you are using springs that are worn out/too light.

The striker channel may have some crud in it or I have heard issues with too much lube in the striker channel on Glocks.

The striker assembly is fairly easy to remove and clean. Link to video

Glad to take a look at it if the above doesn't solve your problem.

I agree with MarshallDodge - most likely oil has gotten into the striker channel, along with some dust/debris. I would clean that thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, which will remove excess oil. If that doesn't fix it, try the spring.

Ammo. I'm a Glock armorer. Drop by sometime and we can catch up and I'll take a peak at it.
