Hi ladies (and any guys with tips),
I became a concealed carrier a year and a half or so ago. I bought a Smith and Wesson M&P 9c, and made myself a cross-body leather purse with a designated gun area. I NEVER set it down when it had a gun in it. Although it worked well, and stayed concealed, I always kind of wished I was carrying "on my person" for added security. Last August I had my third child, and now whenever I go anywhere, I have two toddlers, a baby, often a car seat, and a diaper bag (plus sometimes jackets, etc) in tow. I started stashing my wallet, phone, keys, etc, in my diaper bag instead of my purse, so that I didn't also have to carry a purse. I don't feel comfortable putting my gun in my diaper bag, though, along with diapers, wipes, changes of clothes, etc, because then I can't EVER set down that blasted heavy bag when I'm out, and... well, that's just a LOT to carry constantly.
Anyway, so last Friday I bought a Ruger LCR .38 +P because it fit very well at 4:00 in my waistband. Almost like it was made for the curves in my body (I'm petite with a medium build). What I need help with is finding a sleek (not bulky) way to carry this LCR in the waistband at about 4:00 (I can't wear it anywhere up front because it's not comfortable for me or the baby, and it would also make nursing the baby awkward - sorry if that's TMI.) I've looked a little bit into belly bands but I get the impression that they make you hot and sweaty. I don't want that. Are there some belly bands that don't do that? Has anyone tried the FusionPac? I saw a youTube video about it that looked pretty cool, although it seems a bit pricey.
Also, and this is a big one, I don't wear a belt a lot of the time (I wear lots of skirts, capris, knits, etc).
I feel like a young mom of three preschool aged children has just as much right and just as much need to CC as anyone else, but I won't lie, it's a challenge!!
Any suggestions?
