What is it about .22LR? Never seems to be on any shelves longer than a few hours. It's not exactly a newsworthy round and I doubt Homeland are stocking up on it.

I think it's because it's an all around round. You can practice with it ( most guns now have a .22 version of them). And in an end of days scenario it can be used for anything from protection to hunting. It may not be the best for those things but it's cheap and light in weight. 200+ rounds loose in your pocket will weigh nothing compared to any larger round like .40, .9, and .223.

Just my opinion.

Walmart.com inventory "hack" for Google Chrome

Basically, you change one style on the page (STORE_MSG) and it will show you stock in your local store or allow you to click on the "Find in another store" link instead of just "Store information not available."

I doubt walmart.com's accuracy for store stock is perfect and there are likely some legitimate reasons for walmart to hide this information. I decided not to try driving to South Jordan (from Orem) for .22lr even though the site says it's in stock. But it was neat, so, enjoy.

ETA: This works in Chrom(e|ium) or Firefox for me.

Fascinating! Seems to work in IE using the same principles. The "See other stores" works well too—showing which ones have the item in stock.
I'll have to test the accuracy of the information when I have time to drive around the valley a little bit

There was a pretty good pile of American Eagle plated 38 grain hollowpoint .22 LR at Cabels when I stopped by there about an hour ago. I'd say 15 boxes.

More 5.56 and 223 ammo at the Bloomington (St. George) Wally World than ever and also about 6 or 8 different brands. It was spilling over into places labeled for other ammo. Also the price is as high as ever...I'll be waiting for the price to drop. Also noticed Sportsman's Warehouse had some in bulk. My guess is that within a month you will be seeing a 20-30 drop in prices, especially for the off brand stuff.

Centerville Walmart has a bunch of 223 in. Some .40, .45 and 9. I scored to bricks of federal .22. They had more but all I could swing at the time. My mouth hit the floor when I saw they had .22

Our Richfield Wally Mart had a good supply of 5.56/223 last night. Not so much pistol ammo, but more than in months past. As the other posts indicate, prices are too high. No sign of 22LR ammo though. The future will be interesting.

Not phenomenal deals but good quantities (Scheels doesn't seem to rip off though so they're probably competitive prices for the brands)

Parley's Walmart has a ton of .40,150 round boxes of 5.56, a couple 100 packs of .45, some 12 gauge.
Most of the prices were hidden.

Scheels, as of 3:00pm this afternoon, had at least 6000 rounds of Fiocchi 115gr 9mm in 50-round boxes for $14.99 each. Limit 2 boxes per person.

Tonight about 9:00 pm the Lindon Walmart had Tulammo 9mm at $10.37/box, plus Federal and one other brand of 9mm for under $15/box. They also had WWB .40 for ~$15/box. No .22lr, though.

Has anyone done any kind of price comparison for .223 plinking ammo between the local stores in Utah county like Gunnies, Get Some, Sportsmans, etc? Just wonder if any of them has any significant differences in price.
