Perhaps Mr. Doyle could join UCC and ask for a listing.

Should this list be stickied anymore? It was last modified in 2009 and can't possibly be very accurate.

There could be an updated thread with current instructors. :dunno:

There are a number of much better formats for this type of information. A posted thread is hard to peruse for a particular name, training, or firearm info.

A database, a separate page, a listing, a PDF, spreadsheet, document generated on the fly... :dunno:

So he who has database skills should compile the data and integrate it to a user friendly website where we can query it for the desired information. Then that can be linked here.

not it.

I am working on something simple that everyone could see by clicking on a link. I sent it to dewittdj to look over and see if it needs tweaking. It's possible that he may come up with something better. :dunno:

phpBB supports the following SQL databases, of which I am familiar/skilled with 6 of the 7 listed.

MySQL: Likely the most common database server used for the web. MySQL is open source, released under the GPL, the same license as phpBB.

Microsoft SQL Server: phpBB supports Microsoft's industry-leading SQL Server for use on Windows-based servers. Both SQL Server native and ODBC connections are supported.

PostgreSQL: Known for its high level of scalability, PostgreSQL is an open-source database server which is quickly gaining popularity.

Oracle Database: Using an Oracle database in a business or enterprise environment? No problem. phpBB fully supports this database.

3.0.x Firebird: Firebird is an open-source database system which is available on multiple platforms.

SQLite: SQLite is a small, lightweight, and fast database server.

3.1.x SQLite 3: phpBB 3.1 extends SQLite compatibility with support for SQLite 3.

The question would be whether or not any of the administrators can build the tables and then create a simple front-end for adding/maintaining instructors in the list?

I'm surprised that Google doesn't offer their SQL CLOUD database solution for free.

The spreadsheet that Tracy started looks good. I wouldn't list NRA instructor #'s. Let the NRA instructors give out their number to their students, if they so desire.

What do you envision as a way to maintain this Google doc?

I can have people PM me if they would like to be on the list. I will add them, and subtract if they would like. If for some reason I don't have time to add people, then I can give access to someone else so that they can help out. The main reason I would like a PM done, is so that it can be kept as a list of UCC member instructors, instead of a list of everyone on the planet.

If access to the phpBB underlying SQL database is given, then a searchable database table could be added.

I fully understand how to execute these queries on this page: https://wiki.phpbb.com/Queries_in_phpBB3

Now that the list is being updated and maintained in a spreadsheet, can we get this thread unstickied and sticky the new one?
