I'm a little disappointed in the lack of ranges near my home in Lehi. Does anyone know of plans or talks about opening a range in this area? It seems like an outdoor 100+ yrd range somewhere west of Lehi would be a no-brainer.

Seems like there is plenty of room up by Cabelas or TG point for a range. It would be nice to spend 1/2hr or so there a couple nights a week.

All that area you are thinking of by Cabelas is all private and way off limits.

I think highpockets means someone should build an indoor range there.

I agree - would be an excellent location. Then maybe an outdoor, 200-300 yd range a litte farther west towards Saratoga Springs.

This thread is primarily devoted to the location of existant ranges, not where it would be nice to have a range. Let's keep this thread on-topic please. Thanks.

Is the "*** NEW *** (beta)Google maps listing of all these ranges!" supposed to have all of the "pushpins" displayed? If so, then it doesn't appear to be working. Just shows a standard Google satellite map of the western U.S.

Edit: Browser / OS problem... the link works fine!!! :D

Ther is a range at Camp Williams (near POTM). Not sure of the availability, but our Academy class shot there.

I believe they permit rifle calibers up to .223/5.56 frangible rounds.

I have 1600 yard private range 30min from Ogden... I have been thinking about opening it up a few days a month to the public. What do you guys think?

That looks like a great setup you've put together! It is also very generous of you to think about opening it to others. I think it’s a great idea, I would just caution you to make sure you protect yourself from liability. If something goes wrong there are people who will try to take you for all you are worth. Not likely anyone on this forum but there are plenty of others out there. I wouldn't want to see you get clobbered by your generosity.
